Personal Nutritionist Kansas City

We created something different!

We created Couture Fitness & Lifestyle Coaching because we were fed up with the weight loss industry. Fed up with women thinking they needed to cut out their favorite foods in order to look a certain way. Fed up with women coming to us saying they had been eating 1200 calories a day for months on end and weren’t losing weight. Fed up with all of the approaches to weight loss that are not based in science. Fed up with women bewildered, ashamed, and thinking they were broken. Both of us had gone down multiple paths in our fitness journey that left us wondering what was wrong with our bodies. We learned there was nothing wrong with us – what was wrong were the terrible plans we were following. So we created something different! We wanted women to have a place to come for sane, science-based nutrition and fitness advice that was customized to them and would serve the dual purpose of helping them build a life they love and a body they adore.

  • Nutrition Coach Kansas City Allison

Allison - Certified Sports Nutritionist, completed ACE Group Exercise Certification

I’m Allison. A mother of three, living in a Kansas City suburb. I have been passionate about health and fitness my entire life.

In addition to lifting weights, I enjoy tennis, hiking, volleyball, and just being active with my family. I am a lover of all food, but especially dessert.

My philosophy to nutrition and exercise has always been that it must fit into your lifestyle and enhance your life, not the other way around. I am passionate about teaching women that the body of their dreams is not achieved by starvation and hours of cardio. I believed this myself for many years and it wasn’t until after years of depriving myself that I learned that the key to long-term metabolic health and weight management was in fueling your body with ENOUGH calories and adding muscle mass.

Today, I enjoy true food freedom, a thriving metabolism at 40 years old, and zero mental energy spent on dieting.

  • Jo Personal Trainer Kansas City

    Jo - Certified Life Coach

I’m Jo. I’m a mother of two teenagers living in a Kansas City suburb and a certified Life & Weight Coach through the Life Coach School. I have long been a fitness fanatic – dance and ballet in high school, step aerobics in college, marathons and half-marathons in my 20s and 30s – and I have always loved a good before and after fitness transformation.

In my early 40s I competed in my first fitness competition and completely transformed my body. A switch flipped in my brain and eating and exercising became less about how little I could eat and how hard I could push myself to learning about how to optimize nutrition and exercise for my lifestyle. The results blew my mind. I’ve never looked back (and never looked better).

I became a certified life coach because I am passionate about helping women live their best lives ever. I love helping clients create life-changing transformations, and I can’t wait to help women design lives they love in bodies they adore.

Trust me: it’s not too late and you are NEVER too old.

  • Jeanine Personal trainer Kansas City at Couture Fitness

    Coach Janine

I’m Janine – a mother of two living in a small town outside of St. Louis. I’ve always had a passion for fitness and a true competitor at heart, I played competitive soccer through college and later did Cross-Fit where I competed in several local competitions. I love a good cardio workout to start my day whether that be a good spinning class or a HIIT workout.

Despite my love for cardio, I understand that the key to maintaining a healthy metabolism and weight is intentional nutrition and fueling my body properly. I was so active when I was younger that I didn’t pay much attention to my nutrition. And making sure I got adequate, appropriate nutrition for my daily activities was not a focus. That has had to change as I’ve gotten older.

I look forward to sharing all my knowledge of fitness, nutrition, and metabolic health with the CFLC community and to helping my CFLC clients reach their long-term weight and fitness goals!

  • Personal Trainer Kansas City Hilary

Coach Hilary - Crossfit Level 1 Certified, NCSF Personal Trainer

I am Hilary, a wife, and mom to 2 girls, ages 4 and 9 months. I have always been active but really became a freak for fitness after college. I have been in both the Cross-fit and weight lifting worlds, and I love bringing endurance AND weights together for women. I have my Crossfit level 1 certification, and I am certified through NCSF as a personal trainer. I have been working with women for the past three years to find freedom in food and nutrition and to teach them to carve out time for working out.

I truly believe that to be the best mom, wife, and friend we can be we must put ourselves first and make time for self-care. While not in the gym or obsessing over all things Peloton, I can be found with my nose in a book or watching anything on Bravo. My passion is teaching women that food is for fuel and enjoyment, and there can be a perfect balance to help your body work optimally.

  • Pilates Instructor

    Coach Julie - Pilates Instructor

I’m Julie, a 47-year-old single mom to two teenaged boys. By day,  I work part-time as an attorney and a Reformer Pilates teacher.  By early morning, evenings, and weekends I’m a workout warrior, hiker, podcast listener, and baker.

I have been a long-distance runner since I was 14 and have completed the Chicago Marathon twice, the Boston Marathon, New York City Marathon and the Phoenix Marathon, but my distance days are behind me. I haven’t met a workout that I didn’t give a try – boxing, Cross-Fit, boot camp, Orange Theory, hot yoga, F45, spin, Pilates, Barre.  You name it I’ve tried it - except for Zumba – I can’t hear the beat in music and I’m a terrible dancer.

Exercise is my therapy and has gotten me through some tough times – I was widowed at age 37 and I often turned to exercise to escape.  I love to push my body,  but as I edge closer to 50, I have learned that proper nutrition is more important to maintaining a healthy weight than spending three hours a day working out.

Over the last five years, despite all my working out, I slowly gained ten pounds that just would not budge.  So I joined Couture Fitness and started a reverse diet – I ate more calories than ever, added in more resistance training, and reduced my cardio to one day per week.   I not only didn’t gain weight, I lost several pounds and inches. I've also built some impressive guns!

I’m honored to coach with these passionate ladies who have chosen to share what they have learned about nutrition, fitness, and metabolic health with other women so that we can all have strong, healthy bodies that we love. I have learned to properly fuel my body and I’m excited to help other women do the same!

  • Certified Personal Trainer Kansas City

Coach Leigh Ann B.S. Sport & Exercise Science, Emphasis in Exercise Science, Certified ACE Personal Trainer, Cancer Exercise Specialist

I’m Leigh Ann. Dog mom of beautiful 1 red heeler and military spouse, so you guessed it-we move a lot! I have always been passionate about health, wellness and fitness, and am a firm believer of EXRX (exercise is medicine). In my spare time I enjoy hiking, biking, the occasional jog with my dog, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and camping - all to get out and live the most out of life!

I enjoy strength training as a form of functional fitness in my life to keep my mind & body strong for my adventures. Staying active is important to me so I can get out and enjoy life for years to come. When I'm not out adventuring, lifting or trying new recipes I like to spend mindfullness time crafting with my Cricut! While incurring sport injuries in high school from basketball and cross-country, I became passionate about resistance training and fitness as a whole. Over time through experience and education I have learned about the healing power exercise can have with injury prevention and human body function.

Becoming a part of Couture Fitness has allowed me to vastly expand my knowledge and mindset with nutrition. Learning about nutritional precision for our bodies to live and perform at it’s best has been a total game changer for me personally- gaining a sense nutritional freedom I have never known! I am excited to introduce this same game changer experience and lifestyle to help others reach their health, fitness and wellness goals on this team!

    Coach Jess

I'm Jess. A wife to my wonderful husband and stepmom to two amazing girls (13 and 10), living in a suburb of Minneapolis. I work full time in financial services, and enjoy reading and anything outside. I have a passion for health and fitness, and I can't wait to help others transform their lives the way Couture Fitness has transformed mine.

I was always an athlete of some sort, but I often didn't pay attention to what I was putting in my body. I started strength training and seeing the power of building muscle, and continued that journey throughout my 20s and early 30s doing CrossFit and cardio. It never really clicked that my poor nutrition habits were running the show. By the time I hit my mid-30s, I found myself stuck in a rut. Exercise was fine but didn't excite me, and I lost complete track and control of what I was putting in my body. I felt lost, desperate, and the pounds were adding up. Worse yet, I didn't even know where to start to make a change.

In April 2022 I started with Couture Fitness with the hope of getting my nutrition back on track so I could run a 5k. I completed my first 12-week session and lost pounds and inches, all while maintaining a very doable calorie level (and still enjoying my favorite foods!). Afterwards, I found that the behaviors and habits I created were sticking! I couldn't believe it! I have continued to follow the program, live my life, and see results. And my workouts have never been stronger! I can finally say, maybe for the first time in my life, that I have a body I love.

I was so inspired by Couture Fitness that I decided to become a Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC) through NASM, and am thrilled to be joining the coaching team as well! I can't wait to work with you!

    Coach Brooke

Hi, I am Brooke, wife and mother to 3 active children. First a client and now a coach, I joined Couture Fitness in July 2021 and have spent the time since absorbing all I can from this amazing community! I have always been active in sports and prided myself on being a cardio queen 6-7 days a week but paid little to no attention to my nutrition and was too intimidated to try the weightlifting area at my gym. The results were unpleasant - simply put, I was uncomfortable with who I had become, and I needed someone to help me with a plan.

I have kissed the cardio good-bye and I truly love pushing myself in new ways to build strength which is the long-term investment I am so happy I have made! During my time as a client, I lost 40lbs and dramatically improved my bloodwork. I am a big believer that food is medicine and I have seen that firsthand with my daughter, who is gluten free as a way of managing Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis - she is medication free for over 5 years!

One of the things that was most important to me when joining this program was the ability to manage my nutrition without cooking myself a separate meal from my family. Learning about what food is made up of and how to manipulate the inputs in the form of macros in order to fit the current cycle I am in (maintenance, cut or reverse) is life changing! I love trying new recipes and sharing what I have enjoyed with others, especially my clients! I am excited to share what I have learned and help others achieve their fitness goals! Let's do this!

  • Kansas City Nutritionist

    Coach Katie

Hi, I’m Katie! I’m a PhD Statistician living in Kansas City with my husband and our two very high-maintenance dogs (Dennis and Twinkie). In my free time at home, I enjoy creating and bringing new ideas to life through baking, sewing, or woodworking. When my husband and I have the opportunity to travel, we love exploring new places by land and sea.

Staying strong and fit are incredibly important to me as it allows me to be prepared for the next adventure around the corner. Throughout my adult life I’ve always placed a high value on fitness and enjoyed strength training. But my body weight and body image fluctuated as I bounced between being aimless or extreme in my nutrition. This often left me feeling helpless or like there was something “wrong” with me – how could I be trying so hard and not seeing the results I wanted?

I became a Couture client in spring 2022 and in contrast to various fads I’ve tried in the past, the nutrition and strength components of this program felt sensible and sustainable. But what set this program apart was the involvement of the coaches, the supportive community, and the focus on mindset work. I've personally gained so much from this program and the community, so I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining the Couture team to carry on their mission! My analytical passion puts me in a great position to help clients understand the value of collecting and understanding their data. And my experience as client-turned-coach enables me to empathize with and support clients as they create a healthy lifestyle they love!
